Meet Erica Shepherd • United States
Erica’s love of fitness began at an early age, when she participated in various individual and team sports. Erica found that Pilates offered her balance as she competed in multiple activities and strongly believes that it enhanced her athleticism and kept her injury free.
Erica studied Pilates under world-renowned fitness expert Tracey Mallett and completed her Pilates Teaching Certification through Body Arts and Sciences International (BASI), one of the most respected certification bodies in the industry. She is also certified through Pilates Method Alliance with a PMA-CPT as well as AFAA as a group exercise instructor. She was handpicked to be a Master Trainer for The BootyBarre®, as Tracey the creator was impressed with her attention to detail, execution of the choreography, great personality and love of teaching. She is also one of a handful of Pilates instructors in the state of Washington to be certified by the Pink Ribbon Program, a fitness program designed to address the rehabilitation needs of breast cancer survivors.
Erica teaches BootyBarre® and Pilates from her boutique studio in Woodinville, Washington, where she lives with her husband Aaron, and their two children, Chloe and Jack.
Meet Natalia Haigler • United States & Spain
Natalia Haigler was drawn to ballet as a young girl, and attended the School of American Ballet in New York City at the age of fifteen on full scholarship. Natalia went on to perform for several seasons with Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, Washington, where she discovered Pilates while rehabilitating several dance-related injuries.
After retiring as a dancer, Natalia pursued her interest in Pilates, earning Pilates certification from Stott Pilates. Since then she has starred in many of Stott Pilates’ consumer and professional DVD series, and has joined them in fitness conventions around the U.S.
Natalia holds a PMA-CPT certification through Pilates Method Alliance and is certified as a group exercise instructor with AFAA. She is also a TRX-certified instructor, and has focused on combining TRX exercises and pilates into her personal training sessions. In addition, Natalia has written articles for Pilates Style Magazine, Fitness Magazine, Imagen, as well as other titles geared toward the Latin market.
BootyBarre® is the prefect workout for Natalia as it combines both of her passions in life–Pilates and Dance. She is excited about sharing The BootyBarre® method as a teacher trainer. Natalia and her husband, Chris, currently live in her hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and are the proud parents of their son, Mateo.
Meet Allie Greene • United States
Allie Greene was first introduced to Pilates in 1988 as a part of her dance career with the Cleveland San Jose Ballet. In 2007 she obtained her certification through STOTT PILATES® . She is thrilled and honored to have been asked by Tracey Mallett to become a master trainer for the BootyBarre®. She fell in love with its Pilates based approach combined with dance movement to fun music.
Her other certifications include the PMA ( Pilates Method Alliance) and AFAA (The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America), and The Pink Ribbon Program which is a Pilates based program designed to help women regain full range of motion to those areas affected after breast cancer surgery.
She has a BA in sociology and performing arts from La Roche University. Prior to making Pilates her full time profession she worked as a therapist with children with autism and at risk youth. During this time she also created CLIMB (creative learning in moving bodies) , a movement based class for children with special needs,their family members and friends.
She is the co-owner of Equilibrium Pittsburgh which offers Pilates, yoga, BootyBarre®, Pilates based athletic conditioning as well as pre-school and youth classes. She also continues to teach ballet technique and Pilates for Dancers to the students at the Wexford Dance Academy in Pittsburgh PA. She is passionate about helping empower people to find a healthier, happier self and introducing Pilates to all ages. Allie and her wonderful husband, Dave Curry, are based in Pittsburgh.
Meet Logan Hutt • United States
Logan Hutt, the daughter of a professional dancer, started dancing, singing and acting at the age of 3. She had her main training at the acclaimed Ruth Page Foundation in Chicago. It was there she took her first Pilates mat class at the age of 12 – and was hooked! After years of professional dancing, Logan ended up in Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film/theater industry. In 2006, Logan was certified in Pilates with Body Arts and Science International (BASI), trained by BASI’s founder, Rael Isacowitz. She then went on to become a certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer through AFAA, an Indo-Row Instructor, a BootyBarre® Instructor with Tracey Mallett, and most recently certified as a PMA-CPT with the Pilates Method Alliance. In addition to teaching at ATP Training, Logan is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild (since before she was one year old), and is the Associate Director of the Vonder Haar Center for the Performing Arts in La Canada.
Logan was honored to be asked to teach BootyBarre® and other classes at Tracey’s Mallett’s studio, ATP Specific Training, and is thrilled to be joining the BootyBarre® team of Master Trainers.
After achieving soloist level with The Tampa Ballet Company, Karen moved to New York City and began her teaching career at the prestigious Lotte Berk Method. Learning directly from Lydia Boch, Fred DeVito and Elizabeth Halfpapp proved an invaluable foundation for expanding her pursuits of fitness instruction. Karen became an expert Active Isolated Stretch technician, and created her specially-focused “Stretching to Strengthen” class for the dance world, which she taught at Broadway Dance Center for six years. Completing her Pilates certification through Power Pilates, she added over 150 hours of anatomy and kinesiology study with Irene Dowd, while becoming the first manager of the Pilates Studio at The David Barton Gym on Madison Avenue.
Karen and her husband, David, moved to New York’s Capitol Region in 2005. Since then she has worked at The Pilates Principle & GYROTONIC® Albany, where she achieved GYROTONIC® certifications in the Jumping Stretching Board; Level 2 Cobra; and the Knee Extension Unit. She was chosen to teach Pilates at the NYSSSA New York City Ballet program by the artistic directors Jenifer Ringer and Daniel Ulbricht from 2010 through 2013, and currently teaches her “Stretching to Strengthen” class at The National Museum of Dance School of the Arts. She is a PMA®-Certified Pilates Teacher, as well an AFAA: Group Exercise Instructor, and is proud to be a member of two artistic unions: SAG-AFTRA and The Actors Equity Association. It is an exciting honor for her to work with Tracey Mallet as a teacher trainer for the BootyBarre® team.
Meet Jordanna Smith • Australia
Jordanna has extensive dancing experience from the age of 3, including ballet, contemporary dance, modern jazz, hip hop, and tap. After completing high school Jordanna continued her dance studies by completing an Associate Degree in Dance at the Queensland University of Technology along with her Australian Teachers of Dance certification.
Jordanna has been a dedicated teacher of Pilates since 2002 and combined her dance knowledge and movement with Pilates. Jordanna is the proud of her studio, Pilates Studio 64, which hosts Body Arts and Science and BootyBarre® trainings since 2005.
Alongside being a BASI teaching faculty member, Jordanna also has combined her Pilates and dance experience by obtaining her certification as a BootyBarre® instructor. Jordanna is excited to continue The BootyBarre® method in Australia. Tracey is an inspiration to Jordanna and is just as passionate about movement, dance, and especially having fun with fitness.
Meet Hannah Powsey • United Kingdom & Europe
Hannah competed from the age of three in the British Ballroom Championships and went on to graduate in Musical Theatre from the renowned Millennium Dance College in London, England. Whilst at college, Hannah was introduced to Pilates guru Alan Herdman to help rehabilitate a spinal injury that occurred while dancing. She fell in love with Pilates and was amazed to see how much it had improved her dance technique. Hannah went onto a very successful dance career for over six years in the UK and Europe. She has now retired from dance and since devoted herself to fitness at her personal Riverside Studio, in Norfolk. Hannah has trained with Future Fit and Body Control Pilates. She is very excited to bring BootyBarre® to the UK and Europe, and has no doubt that it will be extremely successful.
Meet Laura Weston • UAE & Saudi Arabia
Laura has had a love for dance since she was a child; taking up ballet from age nine and jazz into her teens. Later these practices led her to explore yoga and Pilates, which she fell in love with both instantly. She later trained with many well renowned teachers in both disciplines.
Laura has been an International teacher since 2004 and now lives and teaches in Dubai, UAE. She is a certified yoga teacher through the Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 200, as well as a certified Pilates teacher through the Pilates Method Alliance. She is also a Balanced Body Pilates faculty teacher trainer. She is very excited to be adding Booty Barre classes and trainings, as she feels all of her passions for dance, yoga and Pilates are combined into a challenging and rewarding practice. Her students are also loving BootyBarre classes for their fun flowing and intense energy! Laura expresses a creative feeling of mind, body and spirit awareness. She feels blessed to share her knowledge and grow with her students in strength, grace and love.
Meet Satoko Yoshikawa • Japan
Born as the youngest child in the family, it has always been Satoko’s love to entertain others around her. She started dancing and gymnastics at an early age and dedicated to cheerleading through her teenage years. Injuries from the acrobatic activities led her to discover Pilates and fall in love with the sensational method.
Satoko studied Pilates under Yae Tatebe, chief instructor of Body Arts and Science International (BASI) Japan. Having lived in the U.S. as a young child has given Satoko the opportunities to assist/ translate at teacher training courses, workshops and conventions in Japan. She is also certified as a Core Fitness Roller trainer and has been teaching dance conditioning with the equipment.
BootyBarre® is the perfect fitness program Satoko has been longing for. She currently teaches at two of the twelve BASI Japan studios in Tokyo, Japan and hopes to share this method with many people throughout the country.
Meet Rachel Howard • United Kingdom & Europe
Rachel Howard was introduced to dance at a very early age. An athlete throughout high school, her passion for sports continued to develop, and she became a qualified Fitness Instructor in 1994. She is certified through the Canadian Fitness Education Service, and the Pilates Method Alliance with Pilates Mat work and Equipment. Rachel is currently a Physiotherapy Undergraduate, and loves the biomechanical focus that BootyBarre® is based on. She is a strong believer in BootyBarre® as a wonderful compliment to Pilates and is excited to bring the program to Europe.
